1. Drive like you are invisible ( as everyone agrees) and do everything you can to attract attention
2. Drive more defensively than any text ever described
3. Assume you have no road rights
4. When someone cuts you off - or scares the crap out of you - don't respond by getting angry.
I have only one horror story - back in May 1968 - brand new Suzuki TC250 ( which I still have an occassionally ride by the way)- crossing an intersection with the lites in my favor - car came through the red lite - middle of the day on a Saturday - I swore at the driver - he then got angry and chased me with his car trying to ram me- because of a brand new engine I was reluctant to push the bike hard - drove to a garage I knew where folks came out and threatened to call the police - while the dirver and his companion ( both male) threatened to beat the s___ out of me.
